WST Customers use WST’s network for a variety of specific applications
some of which are listed below:
Mission Critical Communications
WST's network service is used as a
secondary service for a national company with mission critical "24/7" operations.
WST service uses diverse routing from traditional companies thereby
offering true redundancy for mission critical operations.
Primary Transport
WST's network is used by major cellular carriers
as primary transport for cell phone calls from cell sites. WST's network
helps cell carriers link remote cell sites with their central switching
facilities. The WST network helps cell carriers extend their coverage
and presence without costly new site development.
Inter-LATA Transport
WST's network helps ISP's and other companies
have a local presence across LATA boundaries with dedicated connections.
By expanding coverage to WST POP's across boundaries customers can
economically expand their reach while maintaining existing facilities.
Remote
Site Connection
WST's network is used by paging, two-way, and cellular
companies to connect remote locations to their network. This
allows for coverage area expansion while keeping costs under control.
Internet
Access & IP Transport
WST’s network “footprint” is ideal for Internet Service
Providers to cost effectively reach new customers in either adjacent
geographic regions or expansion areas. With new sites and rooftops
wireless ISP’s (WISPs) can rapidly deploy network coverage with
low economic barriers to enter new markets. WST’s network provides
extremely low latency and can satisfy the most demanding customers.
WST also offers fractional DS3 and special per megabyte pricing plans
for customers that qualify. The expanding WST network connects with
Tier 1 internet providers allowing for ISP providers to have the optimal
choice of providers while allowing ISP’s to have real diverse
routing to ensure network uptime.
Video Transport
WST's network is robust enough for
broadcast quality digital video transport (MPEG1 or MPEG2) to and
from multiple Bay Area
locations. Special applications can be addressed on a case by case
basis.
